Midlife Crossroads
Out Now!
Midlife Crossroads is an honest and deeply personal exploration of the questions many people face in the middle years of life. Through stories of struggle, reflection, faith, and growth, Ryan Sherring invites readers to confront feelings of dissatisfaction, rediscover forgotten parts of themselves, and find renewed purpose for the journey ahead.
Whether you're facing uncertainty, seeking direction, or simply wondering if there's more to life than the pace you've been living, Midlife Crossroads offers encouragement, wisdom, and practical insight for finding your way as you find yourself.
"Will I face it, fly from it, or freeze in it?"
This book is an invitation to choose courage and embrace the possibilities that lie beyond the crossroads.
It was mid 2019 when it started.
By ‘it’ I mean a growing dissatisfaction and discontent somewhere deep inside of me.
I was nearing 40, living at a pace my soul could not keep up with.
I thought this discontent would fade but it didn’t. Instead, it confronted me with some existential questions as old fears resurfaced, past pains snuck up and new temptations knocked at my door.
“Am I going crazy?” I wondered.
Maybe a little.
Or maybe this was the way back to some sanity.
I was at a vital crossroads in my life, at a significant life stage where my decisions would define not just my own future, but the future of those I love.
I used to joke about people having a midlife crisis.
Now that I’m in on ‘the joke’, it’s not so funny.
The question is:
Will I face it, fly from it or freeze in it? If I do have the courage and humility to face midlife, will I find rest for my soul or more importantly, will I find the rest of my soul - those parts and pieces that have been let go or left behind in the pursuits and passions which marked the first half of my life.
Perhaps you are wondering similar things?
If so, come and join me on this journey as we explore what it looks like to find our way as we find ourselves in the middle of life.
